Mohammed Kudus has been handed a further two-game ban for his red card against Tottenham, which means he will miss five matches for West Ham.

Mohammed Kudus Ban Extended For Spurs Red Card o4630

The Ghanaian international was given a straight red card during West Ham’s 4-1 defeat to Spurs in October after a series of moment of madness in north London.

Prior to his dismissal, Kudus had made the first impact of the match after scoring in the opening 45 minutes to put West Ham ahead.

But after a cynical foul on Micky van de Ven, Kudus then pushed the Dutchman and Pape Matar Sarr in the face which was seen by VAR.

Originally, referee Andy Madley dished out a yellow card for Kudus’ foul on the Spurs defender, but VAR intervened to turn the card red.

This led to a three-match suspension for the former Ajax star, meaning he would be back for West Ham’s visit to Newcastle at the end of November.

However, he has now been given an additional violent conduct charge by the FA, which has led to the extra two-match ban.

This means that the 24-year-old will now miss West Ham’s trip to St James’ Park and when the Hammers welcome Arsenal to the London Stadium on November 30th.
