Former Tottenham Star Luka Modric To Become Minority Owner Of EFL Championship Club 165v

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric is set to become a co-owner of EFL Championship side Swansea City, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Despite still playing top-level football for arguably the biggest club on earth, Luka Modric is making his first foray into an ownership role.
The former Tottenham player, 38, is still contracted to Spanish giants Real Madrid until the end of the season.
According to reports, he is keen to continue his playing career at the Bernabeu for at least another year.
But he now has a vested interest in another team famed for an all-white playing kit.
To the surprise of everyone, the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner will become a minority owner of Swansea City.

Who Owns Swansea City? 2a3p
In December, a 77.41 per cent stake in the club was sold to Swansea chairman Andy Coleman and investors Nigel Morris, Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen.
Relegated from the Premier League, Swansea City spent several seasons in the top flight, even winning the EFL cup in 2013.

It’s not yet clear what reason Modric had for choosing Swansea City.
He did play against them while at Tottenham, but it seems unlikely that’s when he fell in love with the Welsh side.
But this won’t be the first time a club in Wales has taken on high-profile new owners.
Wrexham are now co-owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, with the League One outfit pushing for promotion to the Championship.
Celebrity ownership has worked wonders for Wrexham, who have been promoted twice already since Reynolds and McElhenney took charge in 2021.
Swansea are currently 12th in the Championship after a 1-0 win at Sunderland last time out.
