Leeds Vs Swansea Preview 5c2u4k

Leeds could find themselves in second spot on Friday night if rivals Sheffield United secure at least a point against high-flying Coventry at Bramall Lane.

No matter what happens in S2, Daniel Farke’s side know that a win will keep them top of the pile owing to their superior goal difference over the Blades.

However, nerves are beginning to show for the Whites who have just one victory in their last four outings. Before the international break, the Yorkshire side came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with QPR.

A stalemate against West Brom and a surprise defeat to Portsmouth have hindered Leeds’ title hopes in recent weeks. More importantly, third place Burnley are closing in on the automatic promotion places.

With that in mind, Farke knows it’s imperative to secure maximum points at Elland Road on Saturday with eight games of the 2024/25 season left to play.

Swansea’s mini revival under Alan Sheehan came to a disappointing end earlier this month after suffering back-to-back defeats against Watford and Burnley.

Prior to that, Sheehan secured seven points from nine during his opening trio of games. The Irishman will stay on as caretaker manager until the end of the season after filling the void left by Luke Williams.

The South Wales side are currently 16th going into the last eight games. A mid-table finish appears likely for the Swans but pulling away from the relegation zone is the main priority.

As it stands, Swansea are six points above the EFL Championship drop zone. A surprise win at Elland Road would certainly blow the title race wide open whilst enhancing their own chances of finishing the campaign with a bang.

Daniel Farke has confirmed that Ethan Ampadu will be back in the Leeds matchday squad. The Welsh international hasn’t featured since the 3-1 victory over Sheffield United on February 24.

Patrick Bamford is also available for selection after missing the last three months of action owing to a hamstring injury. A late decision is expected to be made on Wilfried Gnonto after he suffered an ankle knock during the break.

Meanwhile, Swansea will be without Myles Peart-Harris. The Brentford loanee is expected to miss the rest of the season and will likely return to west London.

Kristian Pedersen will also be absent but star centre-back Harry Darling is rated 50/50 by Alan Sheehan. Loanee Hannes Delcroix is expected to return to the starting XI.

Leeds Vs Swansea Prediction 1z603l

Despite their Premier League quest taking a mini blow in recent weeks, we are predicting Leeds to get back on track with a comfortable home win over Swansea.

The Whites have won all but two of their games at Elland Road this season and it’s hard to envisage the Swans claiming a famous scalp.

Prediction: Leeds 2-0 Swansea
