Defending National Champions Florida Will Face Duke In ACC/SEC Basketball Challenge

ESPN announced the matchups for the 2025 ACC/SEC Basketball Challenge, including a game between the defending national champions and one of the sport’s bluebloods.

Florida Plays Duke In ACC/SEC Men’s Challenge

The national champs are heading to Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Duke Blue Devils on Tuesday, Dec. 2.

Duke holds a 5-2 series lead against Florida. The two teams last met in November 2017, with the Blue Devils besting the Gators by a score of 87-84.

The Gators enter the 2025-2026 season with high expectations after winning the national championship a season ago. Walter Clayton Jr. is gone, but Arkansas transfer Boogie Fland and Princeton transfer Xaivian Lee could replace the production.

The Gators return five of their top 10 scorers from last season, including Alex Condon, Thomas Haugh, Rueben Chinyelu, Urban Klavzar, and Micah Handlogten.

Duke will miss Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, Sion James, Tyrese Proctor, and Khaman Maluach.

However, the Blue Devils will reload with top prospects, including Cameron Boozer, Cayden Boozer, Dame Starr, Nikolas Khamenia, and Sebastian Wilkins.

ACC/SEC Men’s Challenge features 16 games split across two nights.

The other highlight on Dec. 2 is a game between North Carolina and Kentucky. The Wildcats have won three of the last four matchups, including Kentucky’s 87-83 victory in 2023.

The best game on night two of the ACC/SEC Challenge features an improving Louisville Cardinals team against the Arkansas Razorbacks. Both teams have a chance to be ranked inside the top 15 to start the season.
