With trade rumors swirling around him, Giannis Antetokounmpo took to social media in the early hours of Sunday morning. But he didn’t log on to Twitter to talk about the speculation that surrounds him, but rather to interact with fans and answer their questions.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Hosts Q&A On Social Media

Things haven’t gone to plan for the Bucks since winning the championship back in 2021. They’ve fizzled out in the playoffs in four straight seasons, including first round exits in each of the last three years. After being eliminated by the Indiana Pacers a couple of weeks back, major questions loom regarding the future of the team.

While there has always been conjecture about Antetokounmpo potentially leaving Milwaukee, it looks as though he’ll finally be exploring those options this summer. Rumors started the moment that the Bucks’ season ended, and they were confirmed by multiple recent reports that Giannis is “open-minded” to finding a new NBA home.

Antetokounmpo hadn’t posted on Twitter/X since mid-February during the All-Star break, but he took to the social media outlet this weekend. In the span of five hours, the former MVP fired off 54 tweets, but none of them really had anything to do with his current situation.

He instead answered questions from fans. He identified his favorite movie, his preferred late-night snack, even his record time for changing a diaper. When asked about which 4 NBA players he’d team up with to fight a silver back gorilla, he chose Steven Adams, Zach Edey, Ivica Zubac, and Nikola Jokic.

As one commenter pointed out, “Giannis having a random Q&A while rumors are going on is peak Giannis behavior”. Antetokounmpo retweeted the post.

If the trade talks surrounding the 30-year-old come to fruition, there will be plenty of interest around the league. There are talks of the Bucks potentially receiving a top-3 pick in return, and some of this year’s contenders could be calling Milwaukee to make an improvement that gets them over the hump.

If something is to get done, it will likely happen before the 2025 NBA Draft, which is set to take place on Wednesday, June 25th.
