In order for Justin Allgaier to return to a peaceful home, the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ points leader felt family pressure to capture the May 31 race at Nashville Superspeedway.
Already with one title in the Music City, Allgaier, a father of two young daughters, needed a second guitar trophy to bring home.
Mission accomplished.
With the circuit off last weekend at Michigan International Speedway, Allgaier enjoyed a breather during his dominating campaign. After capturing the Nashville event, he extended his lead in the points standings to 92 over Austin Hill (583-491). Both Allgaier, who has posted 10 top-five finishes in 14 starts, and Hill have three wins this season.
Allgaier (+220) and Hill (+400) received the top odds to earn the drivers’ championship, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Allgaier also captured both stages at the 1.33-mile track and earned the extra point for fastest lap, earning a perfect 61 playoff points.
More importantly, though, he later presented his second guitar trophy to this youngest daughter.
Happy home.

Rookie Dean Thompson Fighting For Postseason Chance
Entering Saturday’s road-course race at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, rookie Dean Thompson ranks No. 16 in the drivers’ standings. With just one top-five finish, Thompson trails Allgaier by 298 points.
Thompson remains in contention for the circuit’s rookie of the year honors. During the season’s first road-course outing at COTA on March 1, Thompson earned a P18.
The Xfinity Series will compete in Mexico for the first time since 2008.
Dean Thompson finishes sixth at Charlotte, matching his season/career-best from Martinsville, which gives him four Top 10 finishes this season.
