Alexander Volkanovski Next Fight: Who Will ‘The Great’ Defend UFC Featherweight Title Against? w4s3r

Alexander Volkanovski is without question one of the biggest stars in MMA over the past decade. The Australian has had a quite remarkable career to now, and it certainly isn’t done just yet.

Volkanovski currently boasts a record of 27-4, which consists of 13 knockout victories, three submissions and 11 wins via decision. Inside the UFC, the 36-year-old has had 17 fights, winning 14 of them. This includes a 12-fight unbeaten streak to begin his UFC career from debut up until his first defeat to Islam Makhachev.

UFC fans last saw ‘The Great’ in action at UFC 314 when he made history in becoming the first ever two-time UFC Featherweight Champion. ‘The Great’ put in a stellar performance, defeating Diego Lopes via unanimous decision to win the 145-pound belt for the second time.

In regards to Alexander Volkanovski’s next fight, the Australian MMA superstar has several options. It looks like he will continue to campaign at featherweight, with several names such as Mosvar Evloev, Arnold Allen and Lerone Murphy just a few of the names ‘Volk’ could face next.

No matter who he fights next, ‘The Great’ will likely be listed as a favourite. Rightly so, he has proved he is the best featherweight in the world once again, not to mention the fact he is arguably the greatest featherweight of all time.

There is a genuine argument that Alexander Volkanovski has sures both Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor in the greatest UFC featherweight of all time argument. He really is a special fighter and continues to perform to an elite level inside the octagon.

Could Alexander Volkanovski’s Next Fight Be Against Mosvar Evloev Or Arnold Allen? 6hl4j

Should Alexander Volkanovski return to action in late 2025, there are plenty of names who could potentially fight. As previously mentioned, there are a few title contenders at 145-pounds that could face Volkanovski next, with the unbeaten Mosvar Evloev leading the pack.

Despite being ranked at #4, Evloev is likely to be next in line for a shot at Volkanovski’s 145-pound world title. This is due to the fact that during his first reign, ‘The Great’ beat every fighter ranked above him in the featherweight division.

Volkanovski has already beaten #1 contender Max Holloway three times, Diego Lopes last time out and of course Yair Rodriguez once before too. This leaves Evloev as the next highest ranked contender at featherweight, so a fight between the pair makes sense for the late summer.

British fighters Arnold Allen and Lerone Murphy are both ranked inside the top eight at featherweight too, with both of them further options for Alexander Volkanovski’s next fight. Allen is ranked #5 and Murphy is ranked #8, so both could be one win away from a shot at the champion.

UFC President Dana White quite evidently still has a superstar on his hands, even if Volkanovski is 36-years-old and nearing retirement. His next fight will tell us a lot about where he is at in his career, and what exactly he has left to offer.

Alexander Volkanovski remains one of the biggest names on the UFC roster, as well as being a legend of the sport and former pound-for-pound great. He should be treated well from now until the day he retires. Period.
