Watch Arsenal Vs Ipswich highlights as Kai Havertz earned the Gunners a hard-fought victory over Ipswich Town in the Premier League.

German international Havertz scored the game’s only goal as Ipswich and moved up to second in the table.

The hosts took the lead in the 23rd minute when Havertz converted an easy chance from Leandro Trossard’s excellent cross.

Arsenal had a dominant 83.5% of the ball in the first half as the visitors sat ever deeper. Ipswich parked the bus at the Emirates, with Kieran McKenna’s side aiming to hit their opponents on the break.

Declan Rice went close to adding a second, but his curling effort flew over the bar. Arsenal thought they had doubled their advantage through Gabriel Jesus, but the Brazilian saw his effort ruled by the linesman’s offside flag.

Newly promoted Ipswich threw more bodies forward after the break. Former Manchester City academy graduate Liam Delap struggled to get any change out of Arsenal’s impressive back line of Gabriel and Saliba.

The former had his own chance to finish things off for the hosts, but saw his close-range header miss wide of the post.

Havertz then failed to take a second opportunity, meaning Gunners fans had to endure a tense final few moments.

The win for Liverpool – who have a game in hand.

Despite some poor results on the road, Arteta’s men will end 2024 as the only team still unbeaten at home in the Premier League this season.

For Ipswich, their brave showing did little to help their situation. The Tractor boys are 19th in the table, though only three points from safety.

Next up, Arsenal make the short trip across London to Chelsea at Portman Road on Monday 30 December.
