Arsenal Women attract the biggest crowds in the Women’s Super League, and that is very much evident from their matchday income. As per the Deloitte data published on Statista, Arsenal WFC generated the most matchday income during the financial year 2023-24. As per the data, the North London club made €5.1 from gate receipts in 23-24. The figure puts Arsenal comfortably ahead of the remaining clubs in WSL.
In comparison, in the second spot, Chelsea Women managed to make just €3.1m from gate receipts. Chelsea Women have been far more successful than Arsenal on the domestic front, winning the last six league titles on a trot. However, Arsenal women continue to attract the biggest crowds in WSL as they play a considerable number of their home games at the Emirates Stadium.
And one can expect this gulf to further increase in the coming years. The North London club are on a high following their historic Champions League success and the club’s board has announced that their women’s side will be playing all of their home games in WSL at the Emirates Stadium next season.
The two London clubs are followed by the two from Manchester on the list. Manchester United Women find themselves third on the spot. United generated €2.2 million in matchday revenue. Neighbours Manchester City were next on the list with €1.2 million in revenue. None of the remaining clubs in WSL managed to break the million mark in gate receipts.
Tottenham Hotspur generated €0.5 million in revenue, followed by Aston Villa (€0.4 million) and Liverpool (€0.2 million).
