Big Man Bakar’s FPL GW34 Tips 4w676x
Q) Which highly owned players can be avoided on the Free Hit? 5y6v35
I believe that Mbeumo and Wood, two highly owned players, can be avoided on the Free Hit because of the strong alternatives available elsewhere.
The likes of Kluivert and Luis Diaz have the potential to match, if not outscore, Mbeumo on the Free Hit.
While Wood is a solid option at home versus Brentford, the better fixtures and low ownership of forwards like Welbeck and Jimenez suggest they might be shrewd alternatives.
Q) Double Newcastle attack or defence on the Free Hit? 4c3y32
Unpopular opinion, but I’d lean towards the double defence here.
While on face value it may appear that double Newcastle attack offers a higher ceiling, I feel as if the Newcastle defenders are a cut above the defensive alternatives available while we have equal alternatives available to the Newcastle midfielders.
Minutes for the Newcastle midfielders appear to be murky – it feels almost inevitable that at least one Newcastle winger will be subbed off after an hour. Are they better than the alternatives with an expected minutes range of 60-70? Maybe not.
This also seems to be a tricky time to be predicting minutes for the likes of Gordon, Barnes and Murphy, as the manager may want to shake things up after the 4-1 defeat last weekend.
Q) Is Raul essential on Free Hit? 5b284q
With Muniz out injured, Raul is probably the best forward to own after Isak this week.
His minutes will surely increase in Muniz’s absence, and the fixture against Southampton is as good as it gets.
He’s a penalty taker too, which adds extra brownie points to his selection.
Q) Should Palmer be picked on the Free Hit? 4x40g
Palmer has not been in great form, but I feel as if he’ll be a bit of a differential at this point.
Low ownership, asset, no risk for minutes, penalty taker with a favourable fixture — he’s exactly the sort of player I’d want to own on the Free Hit this week.
Q) Who are the best differentials to pick on the Free Hit? 6un3m
Welbeck: Welbeck is one of the best differentials to own if you’re on a Free Hit this week.
He will be on penalties in the absence of Joao Pedro and should see an increase in his minutes in the Brazilian’s absence.
His current ownership sits well below the typical differential threshold, making him a high-upside punt with minimal risk at an affordable price of just £5.5m.
Sessegnon: Wilson’s return makes his minutes difficult to predict, but Sessegnon is a risky differential which comes with a high reward.
Classified as a defender, he’s been playing on the right wing of late and is expected to keep his place vs Southampton. Needless to say, he should have a high ceiling with the ability to return at both ends of the field.
Most managers won’t pick him though, as he will definitely sub on if he doesn’t start or could be subbed before 60 even if he does.
Barnes: Barnes is probably the Newcastle midfielder you should go for if you’re looking to buy one this week. Isak and Murphy have been more popularly owned, yet Barnes has been the one who has scored more points in recent weeks.
He has been involved in five of Newcastle United’s previous 10 goals and has the ability to play on both sides of the wing.
Q) Best goalkeeper to pick on the Free Hit? 4z3p28
Pope and Sanchez are the best ones, in my opinion.
Sanchez may marginally be the better pick, as there are better alternatives available to Pope in the Newcastle defence and attack.
Chelsea’s 42% clean sheet probability, the second highest of the Gameweek, makes Sanchez an appealing pick at home to Everton.
Q) Who is the best captain this week? 5d162e
Mohamed Salah will get the armband for me this week.
It’s an easy decision for me — Liverpool have the highest projected goal tally, and Salah is the standout pick in of goal and assist probability provided by the bookmakers.
I think the Free Hit will already offer a good rank boost, so I’m not keen on gambling further with captaincy.
Q) What is the best Wildcard team to pick this week? 3g1m72
It’s challenging to pick a Wildcard team this week, where the aim is to choose a strong 11 this week, maximise doublers for Gameweek 36 and yet guarantee a full squad for Gameweek 37.
This is the best I came up with:
Sanchez Martinez
Gvardiol Trippier Livramento Ait-Nouri Mykolenko
Salah Palmer Mbeumo Kluivert Semenyo
Raul Isak Marmoush
