British boxer Billy Joe Saunders was filmed attempting to gain entry into Chris Eubank Jr’s dressing room prior to his blockbuster fight with Conor Benn.

Saunders, who is firmly in Benn’s corner ahead of Saturday night’s grudge match, was supposedly sent on “Conor’s orders” to inspect Eubank Jr’s gloves.

However, footage shows Saunders being physically restrained from scuppering Eubank’s pre-match preparations, as security and of his team hold him back.

The former two-time WBO champion was promptly turned away, with of the Eubank team claiming there was already one of Benn’s corner in there.

Saunders does also not hold a British Boxing Board of Control licence, so there is no obligation for him to be allowed entry.

Saunders then replied: “What team member’s in there? Because under Conor’s orders… listen bruv, you’re a nobody, just like an old big bouncer.”

Even if he won’t be physically stepping into the ring, tensions are likely to be high on Saturday for Saunders, who holds a long-standing bitterness towards Eubank Jr since they clashed in 2014 for the British middleweight title bout, in which Saunders claimed victory.

In the lead up to the fight, Saunders has certainly not minced his words after accusing the Eubank Jr camp of ‘cheating’.

“We’re all participants of the sport, I just want to make sure it’s fair, making sure there’s no stacking going on,’ he told Boxing King Media.

“I don’t really go to boxing shows but obviously it’s a big fight, Conor Benn is a good mate of mine, and I want to see him knock him out cold tonight.”
