The Dejan Kulusevski injury news coming out of the Tottenham training camp this week is the Swedish midfielder is a major doubt for the rest of the season, which includes their key Europa League Final clash with Manchester United on May 21st.

According to the @SpursOfficial ‘X’ platform, Kulusevski underwent surgery on Wednesday (14th May) and will commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff immediately”.

The injury was to his right patella (knee) was picked up in Tottenham’s 2-0 home defeat against FA Cup Finalists Crystal Palace and as a result is expected to miss their Europa League Final against the Red Devils.

 

This recent Spurs loss further shook-up the next Tottenham manager betting odds – with many feeling Ange Postecoglou’s days as head coach are numbered.

However, despite Tottenham’s poor Premier League form this season – that sees the North London side languishing in 17th place – they could save their campaign if beating fellow league stragglers Manchester United in the Europa League Final in Spain.

With less than a week till the final, and the news of the Dejan Kulusevski injury – Spurs will have to try and win the trophy without another of their star men.

This injury update comes less than a week after another of their leading players – James Maddison – sustained a knee injury in their Europa League first-leg clash with Bodo/Glimt and will also miss the big football showdown with United. With Spurs saying he’s been ruled out for the rest of the season.

But what has made the Kulusevski injury news more frustrating for Spurs fans is that Postecoglou and his medical team came out soon after the game and said “He should be okay, and the medical team are not too concerned”.

Tottenham will face Manchester United on Wednesday 21st May in the 2025 Europa League Final, with the kick-off time 8pm GMT.

The Europa League Final will be played at the San Mames, in Spain – which is the home ground of La Liga side Athletic Bilbao, who United saw off in their semi-final.
