The FPL Banger boys are back with their Fantasy Premier League tips for Gameweek 27, outlining their top picks and a best captain selection.

Welcome to a new series for the 2024/25 season, provided by Siva & Sam, the twisted minds behind the FPL Banger Podcast.

Mohamed Salah ©, Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa and, of course, Oliver Glasner all featured in last week’s article (you’re welcome for the 20 points). Let’s see if we can keep it up in GW27.

BEST CAPTAIN 4b3r6p

Mo Salah (£13.7m) – Fixture: Newcastle (H) 6d9r

Surprised? You really shouldn’t be. Mo is now 19 points short of the all-time FPL record. He could fail to score or assist in every game from now until the end of the season and still beat the record. And he’s only blanked four times all season. The alternative is, of course, Cole Palmer, at home against soon-to-be relegated Southampton. Saints are bad, and Palmer is surely scoring his first goal in six games. However, Salah is operating on a whole other level right now, and regardless of opposition, I’m sticking with him.

TOP PICKS 4b573l

Three picks from West Ham, Jeremy? Three? That’s insane.

Or is it? Leicester’s form over the last 11 games: LLLLLLLWLLL

In that time, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side have scored just two goals in their 10 defeats. Turns out a frontline of Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Jordan Ayew and Jamie Vardy with a combined age of 103 might not be effective in the Premier League in 2025. Defensively, the Foxes are just as bad, conceding at least two goals in all of those 10 defeats, and with just one clean sheet all season. Bowen’s on fire, and Leicester are dire. It’s all coming together.

Matheus Cunha (£6.9m) – Fixture: Fulham (H) 2p5q2e

Cunha’s form tailed off in January amid reports linking him with a move. However, the window is shut now, and the Brazilian has signed a new contract (reportedly with a release clause), which has clearly given him a lift as he’s scored in his last three games. He is also a bonus points monster, with 33 bonus points, third only to the Kiwi Lewandowski Chris Wood and Salah himself. With blank GW29 on the horizon, Cunha is a great pick who you can hold for a few weeks and just enjoy the points.
