FPL Salah provides his three best forward replacements for Matheus Cunha (£7.0m) and Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.4m) for Gameweek 28 and beyond.

Abdul Rehman (FPL tips.

Every week, FPL Salah will be providing you with FPL tips, insight, and advice to gear you up, continuing with his Fantasy Premier League fancies for this weekend’s next set of fixtures.

This is his 18th season playing FPL, and he’s finished in the top 1,000 four times, with 14 finishes in the top 50,000. He also writes weekly FPL articles for The Athletic and Fantasy Football Hub.

This week, FPL Salah will be presenting his FPL tips that include the best replacements for Matheus Cunha (£7.0m) and Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.4m).

Cunha will be suspended for four games, at least for his red card against Bournemouth in the FA Cup. Mateta looks to be out for at least next gameweek after the head injury sustained against Millwall.

FPL Best Forward Replacements 1s2c63

Chris Wood (£7.2m) – Nottingham Forest 2c5d57

The Kiwi is the highest scoring forward in the game right now with 18 goals and three assists with an xG of 10.5 and an xA of 1.1.

He looks the most natural replacement if you own either of Cunha or Mateta. Nottingham Forest’s next fixture is against Manchester City at home which isn’t as difficult a fixture as it has been in seasons past. Crucially, Forest have a fixture in Blank Gameweek 29 and a good one at that too as they take on newly promoted Ipswich.

Forest then have some pretty decent fixtures until the end of the season, so it does look like quite an easy like-for-like transfer.

Their next five in the league read: Man City (H), Ipswich (A), Man United (H), Aston Villa (A), and Everton (H).

Wood is nailed to start, on penalties and in the form of his life.

Yoanne Wissa (£6.4m) – Brentford z5y1q

Yoanne Wissa has been immense this season for Brentford. He has 12 goals and three assists with an xG of 13.0 and an xA of 1.3.He is also one of the best value forward options if you compare his price to a lot of the other strikers. Thomas Frank’s team are also a good attacking side. They have scored 48 goals (fifth) with an xG of 43.18 (eighth), and Wissa is his team’s number 9.

They haven’t had an issues scoring even against the better teams. The Bees come up against Aston Villa at home next, but their fixtures will stiffen a little over the next five.

However, due to his cheaper price, he doesn’t have to be played in every game, and if you have a solid eight-man attack, he can be rotated for your team.

Brentford play Villa (H), Bournemouth (A), Newcastle (A), and Chelsea (H) in the next four.

He is a good set-and-forget option, and I wouldn’t really mind playing him in the tougher fixtures either, given his goal threat.

Omar Marmoush (£7.2m) – Manchester City 3y3z56

The Premier League’s new Egyptian certainly looks like the most explosive option to opt for.In five starts, he has three goals, which all came in one game – against Newcastle United in Gameweek 25.

He will no doubt start most games, and Pep Guardiola sees him as a clear first-team player.

Man City have some fantastic fixtures on the horizon too. After they play Forest in Gameweek 28, they play Brighton (H), Leicester City (H), Man United (A), and Crystal Palace (H).

They also have kind fixtures until the end of the season. If Marmoush continues to start games, he will no doubt score well and pick up some big scores.

Marmoush scored 15 goals and 10 assists for German side Eintracht Frankfurt in only 17 appearances this season after g for Man City in the January transfer window.

Over his career, he has 73 goals and 31 assists and is a proven player at the top level.

He is an all-round player with goal and assist threat, which is exactly what we want for FPL.

Erling Haaland (£14.7m) would be my top replacement in isolation, but of course, due to his price, I have not mentioned him above. However, you can plan to get him with your free transfers in Gameweek 29.

If you have a strong enough squad to bench one of your injured forwards, you can make the switch in Blank Gameweek 29, where City play Brighton at home, and the Norwegian will be the best captain that week too.

This is especially a good strategy if you plan to wildcard in Gameweek 30 or 31. You will likely need to get rid of Mohamed Salah (£13.8m) or Cole Palmer (£11.1m) to afford him, so a two-week punt before wildcarding and resetting could be a shrewd move.

If you are looking for cheaper options to possibly upgrade other areas of your team, then the likes of Beto (£5.0m), Danny Welbeck (£5.5m), or even Strand Larsen (£5.2m) are all good picks who should play plenty of minutes and are solid options as your eighth attacker.
