Liverpool took the lead after just 14 minutes at Craven Cottage, with Alexis Mac Allister unleashing a thunderbolt from range that gave Bernd Leno no chance in goal.
Fulham were not discouraged despite going behind early and just after the 20 minutes they were level again as Liverpool failed to clear and Ryan Sessegnon fired a volley into the back of the net.
A comedy of errors from Andy Robertson handed Fulham their second of the game, as the fullback played a ball directly into his own box before then deflecting Alex Iwobi’s shot past Caoimhin Kelleher for 2-1.
The hosts were able to cap off an incredible first half with their third coming from Rodrigo Muniz. The striker stole possession from Virgil van Dijk before shoving his opponent aside and drilling in a low finish to give the Cottagers a two goal cushion at the break.
Mohamed Salah was quiet all afternoon but he had a huge opportunity in the second half with a cross swung into the Egyptian at the back post. Salah couldn’t convert though and his volley from close range flew well over the crossbar as his mini goal drought continues.
Liverpool were able to get one back through substitute Luis Diaz in the 72nd minute, as the Colombian poked a finish beyond Leno to give the visitors some late hope.
The Reds had ultimately given themselves too much to do in the second half though and despite dominating possession they weren’t able to rescue a point late on.

When can Liverpool win the Premier League? 4z73d
Although their defeat to Fulham felt like a miserable one, Liverpool shouldn’t be hurt in the long term with the Premier League title all but wrapped up already.
The loss does mean that the Reds will have to wait at least an extra week to confirm their league title this year but with just seven games to go there isn’t much longer to wait for ers.
Liverpool’s nearest pursuers also dropped points this weekend as a much changed Arsenal side drew to Everton with a Champions League tie against Real Madrid already in mind.
With both of the top two dropping points this week not much changed in the standings as Arsenal gained one point on Liverpool. The gap between first and second is now 11 points which means Liverpool could secure their title in just three games time if the Gunners should slip up behind them.
Should Liverpool win the league before the 11th of May, Arsenal may have to give the new champions a guard of honour when they visit Anfield.
