Jack Catterall’s next fight sees the English boxing star aiming to get back to winning ways following defeat last time out. ‘El Gato’ firmly has his sights set on winning world titles in the super-lightweight division, but first must get back to winning ways.

Jack Catterall Next Fight: When Is ‘El Gato’ Back In Action? 324x48

Jack Catterall was last in action on February 15th, where he came unstuck against Arnold Barboza Jr in their WBO Interim World Super-Lightweight Title fight. The Chorley man lost a razor thin split decision in Manchester, in a fight that he was the favourite with the best UK betting apps to be victorious in.

Now that the Barboza Jr fight is said and done, it looks like ‘El Gato’ will need to rebuild. The 31-year-old was so close to getting a full world title shot, but came unstuck at the final hurdle to the unbeaten American who will instead go on to fight for world honours.

The Jack Catterall next fight will instead be a fight lower down the 140-pound division. Catterall is still arguably one of the best fighters in the world at super-lightweight, but will need to get back to winning ways before he can earn a world title shot.

The best boxing betting sites will undoubtedly favour ‘El Gato’ to win his next fight, no matter who is in the opposite corner. A rematch with Barboza Jr seems unlikely, even though the fight could have gone either way.

It seems more likely that Catterall could fight for the European Super-Lightweight Title or another big name on British shores. He is still in touching distance of a world title, but will first need to get back in the win column before any more talk of fighting for world honours.

If Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing working alongside the Saudis regularly, this is a real possibility.

Will Jack Catterall’s Next Fight Be For A World Title? u24j

Jack Catterall will almost certainly get another shot at world honours late this year or in early 2026, provided he gets back to winning ways in his next fight against a fellow top contender.

Ultimately ‘El Gato’ should have been undisputed world super-lightweight champion already, but he wasn’t given the rub of the green against Josh Taylor back in their first fight.

Should he bounce back from the Arnold Barboza Jr defeat with another impressive win, Catterall simply cannot be denied a shot at world honours. There are currently four different belt holders at super-lightweight, all of which are fighters Catterall will have his sights set on now.

Alberto Puello still holds the WBC crown, Richardson Hitchins is the IBF champion, Jose Valenzuela has the WBA strap and Teofimo Lopez is the WBO & Ring Magazine king. Catterall has itted that he wants to face any of these champions going forward.

I looks like 2025 could be the biggest of Catterall’s boxing career yet. Of all of the current world champions who hold a belt at 140-pounds, it seems the fight that makes sense will be for the IBF Title that Richardson Hitchins currently holds.

The Teofimo Lopez one is a super-fight, but that seems unlikely now with Barboza Jr fighting him instead. Jose Valenzuela and Alberto Puello, the other world champions, could be potential option for the Chorley man later this year too.

Time will tell who Jack Catterall’s next fight is against as he aims to get back in the win column. Fingers crossed ‘El Gato’ finally wins that elusive world title once and for all by the end of this year or in 2026.
