Jack Catterall is widely regarded as one of the best super-lightweight boxers on the planet right now. Despite never actually winning a world title, ‘El Gato’ is undoubtedly one of the most talented and skilful fighters in world boxing at 140-pounds.
We are talking about an elite athlete, who could genuinely be the single best light-welterweight fighter on the planet, even if the world title belts say otherwise. Catterall is a huge talent, and is one of the best fighters on British shores as of today. Of that there is no doubt.
Jack Catterall’s record has developed over the years, with just two defeats on his impressive resumé. The 31-year-old boasts a near perfect record of 30-2. Not only that, but of these 30 wins, ‘El Gato’ has secured 13 of them via knockout.
Some fans would argue that the Chorley man should have become the undisputed world super-lightweight champion back in 2022 as well, but he didn’t get the decision in his sole defeat to Josh Taylor.
Since then, Catterall has gone from strength to strength, including beating Taylor in a rematch despite being underdog again with the best boxing betting sites. Now, the Jack Catterall record is right up there with one of the best in the entire 140-pound division in world boxing.
Not only is ‘El Gato’ an accomplished fighter, but he is an extremely wealthy man now too. Thanks to his vast career earnings and endorsements from boxing, Jack Catterall’s net worth has hit new heights. He deserves all of his riches and fortunes now, he has most definitely earned them.

Jack Catterall turned professional back in September 2012 when he was just 19-years-old. Since then, the Chorley boxing star has had a meteoric rise to the upper echelons of the super-lightweight division.
The 31-year-old won his first eight fights before then winning his first professional title in his nineth outing. Catterall picked up the Central Area Light-Welterweight Title with a Round 2 knockout of Nathan Brough, before then fighting for a few other European belts for the next few years.
With his record now at 18-0, Catterall was given his shot at the British Super-Lightweight Title in 2017. ‘El Gato’ outpointed Tyrone Nurse over 12 rounds, adding the coveted Lonsdale belt to his collection in the process.
After the Nurse fight, British boxing fans really began to take notice of the Chorley man. He beat some big names in Tyrone McKenna and Ohara Davies in his next few fights, extending his record to 23-0 by the end of 2018.
Catterall then had two more wins in 2019 and just one in 2020, before not fighting at all in 2021. However, his patience paid of as he was given a shot at becoming the undisputed world super-lightweight champion. Next was the famous Josh Taylor fight.
With the Jack Catterall record now at an impressive 26-0 with 13 KO’s, the 31-year-old dared to be great as he challenged Josh Taylor for the WBA-Super, WBO, IBF & WBC World Super-Lightweight Titles in Taylor’s hometown of Glasgow.

Pre-fight, Catterall was a huge underdog with the best UK betting apps, but he proved price-setters very wrong indeed. The fight went the full 12 rounds, with 99% of boxing fans believing Catterall had done enough to win and become the new undisputed champion.
However, it was ‘The Tartan Tornado’ who got a hometown split decision, leaving Catterall with nothing to show for his miraculous efforts. Despite losing the fight officially, everyone knows how that bout really played out and who the real winner was.
Despite being incredibly frustrated, Catterall got his own back against Taylor when he beat him via unanimous decision over two years later. The Chorley man first beat Darragh Foley and former multi-weight world champion Jorge Linares, before then defeating his bitter Scottish rival once and for all in May 2024.
Catterall added another big name to his resumé as he outpointed former world champion Regis Prograis over 12 rounds, which then set up this interim world title fight with Arnold Barboza Jr on February 15th in Manchester.
For just the second time in his career, Catterall suffered defeat last time out. It was a super close fight against Barboza Jr, but the American did just enough to win a razor thin split decision.
That takes us up to now in the career of ‘El Gato’. Jack Catterall’s record is one of the best in British boxing. More huge fights await Catterall, that is for sure. You wouldn’t put it past him becoming a bona fide world champion this year or next.
