The Junto Nakatani next fight is a hot topic of conversation, with boxing fans desperate to see the Naoya Inoue clash.

Whether Nakatani fights Inoue after his bantamweight unification bout remains to be seen, with the Japanese boxing superstar back in action on June 8 in Tokyo.

Junto Nakatani Next Fight: When Is The Unbeaten Japanese Superstar Back In Action? 4y4m5u

Junto Nakatani has become quite the superstar in boxing circles over the past year or two. The undefeated Japanese fighter fought three times in 2024, as well as kicking off 2025 with an emphatic knockout victory in February.

As of today, Junto Nakatani’s record sits at a perfect 30-0, consisting of 23 knockout victories and just seven decision wins. The 27-year-old is arguably the second biggest sports star in Japan, behind a certain Naoya Inoue of course.

Nakatani currently holds the WBC World Bantamweight Title and has done since February 2024. Prior to becoming world champion at 118-pounds, Nakatani held world title belts at both flyweight and super-flyweight. All in all, Junto Nakatani is a three-weight world champion already.

Regarding what is on the horizon, the Junto Nakatani next fight sees the knockout artist take on Ryosuke Nishida on Sunday, June 8 at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo.

Not only is this his next fight, but it is a special one. Nakatani vs Nishida is a unification bout for the WBC & IBF World Bantamweight Title belts. Whoever wins this fight will solidify themself as the best 118-pound fighter in the world.

Both men are undefeated, with Nishida boasting a perfect 10-0 record of his own. That being said, the vast majority of boxing fans are expecting another stoppage victory from Nakatani before a potentially huge end to the year and massive 2026.

The Japanese powerhouse is such a concussive puncher that he is being predicted to win his next fight via knockout. If so, this would be his 24th knockout of his career and fifth on the spin.

Could Nakatani’s Next Fight After Nishida Be The Super-Fight With Naoya Inoue? 2o3z6q

Provided the Junto Nakatani next fight goes his way against Ryosuke Nishida, boxing fans will be calling for the all-Japanese undefeated clash with Naoya Inoue next.

Naoya Inoue’s next fight looks like it will be against MJ Akhmadaliev in September, but after that it looks like the Nakatani showdown could finally happen. If it does, this would undoubtedly be the single biggest fight in Japanese boxing history.

For this fight to happen, it is likely that Nakatani would need to move up to super-bantamweight where ‘Monster’ is the current undisputed champion. It is highly unlikely Inoue will move back down to 118-pounds, a division he has already conquered and become undisputed king of.

A super-bantamweight clash between the pair makes total sense, if of course Junto Nakatani’s next fight against Nishida goes his way and he then decided to moves up in weight.

Should this fight happen, fans would find it hard to split them with both fighters undefeated and devastating punchers. Inoue would probably be the slight favourite given he is regarded as a pound-for-pound boxing great, but Nakatani himself would certainly have plenty of backers too.

Aside from the Inoue fight, more unifications at bantamweight are also viable options. Yoshiki Takei (WBO) and Antonio Vargas (WBA) are the two other belt holders at 118-pounds, and fights against them, both of which would be all-Japanese affairs, also make tot sense for Nakatani next.

All of these plans could be scuppered though if Junto Nakatani’s next fight doesn’t result in victory against Ryosuke Nishida on June 8 at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo.
