The golf course is a par 71 for , but a par 70 when hosting the US Open. Johnny Miller currently holds the course record (63) at Oakmont – shooting this score en route to winning the 1973 US Open.
The world-class golf course has played host to several big tournaments over the years. This includes the US Open of course, as well as the PGA Championship three times, the US Amateur six times and the US Women’s Open twice as well.
Oakmont Country Club hosted its first major championship back in 1922 when the PGA Championship took centre-stage around the hallowed turf. It then hosted it’s first US Open five years later in 1927.

The golf course also has the longest par-3 in US Open history, with the treacherous eighth hole standing at around 290-yards in length.
The 2025 US Open marks just the 10th time in history that Oakmont Country Club has hosted this particular major golf tournament.
