Although not a household name in world boxing, Lawrence Okolie is certainly a man well known to the British public. Okolie is a former world cruiserweight champion, as well as winning a world title at bridgerweight before his move up to heavyweight where he now campaigns.

‘The Sauce’ has been criticised for his style in the past, but now looks like a completely different fighter up at heavyweight and since g with Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren.

In his one heavyweight contest to date, Okolie won in just 134 seconds. It is apparent that the Londoner is a concussive puncher and a huge threat on the world scene.

Lawrence Okolie’s record now stands at 21-1 with 16 KO’s, including four WBO World Cruiserweight Title victories before he eventually lost the belt to Chris Billam-Smith in his only professional defeat.

In regards to the Lawrence Okolie next fight, it has been confirmed that the 32-year-old will face heavyweight contender Kevin Lerena on the Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2 undercard at Wembley Stadium on July 19th.

Okolie’s next fight marks just his second bout at heavyweight, having won his first fight inside one round last December on his only heavyweight contest to date. Now, he has upped the jeopardy with a tricky opponent for his fight.

This is a fight that fans are expecting Okolie to win, but it could certainly be a potential banana skin. After that, some huge clashes, even domestically, against the likes of Richard Riakporhe, Fabio Wardley and Moses Itauma all make total sense for ‘The Sauce’.

Lawrence Okolie’s next fight is just around the corner as he has his second heavyweight contest on the Usyk vs Dubois 2 undercard at the famous Wembley Stadium in London.

Although there is no guarantee that Lawrence Okolie’s next fight will end in triumph, boxing fans are also talking about other potential fights moving forward at heavyweight.

Now that Okolie is signed with Queensberry Promotions, there are some huge heavyweight match-ups that could be made. Frank Warren has the best heavyweight stable in world boxing, so fights against some other Queensberry fighters could make total sense in the not so distant future.

The likes of Fabio Wardley, Richard Riakporhe, Moses Itauma and even Daniel Dubois are great domestic fights that could be on the cards for Okolie very soon. Ultimately he will want to become world heavyweight champion, so beating some of these names would certainly put him in line for a world title shot in 2026.

Some other names such as Dillian Whyte, Filip Hrgovic, Zhilei Zhang and perhaps even Martin Bakole could also make sense down the line for ‘The Sauce’. Moses Itauma’s next fight looks to be against fellow Brit Dillian Whyte, so Okolie could even face the winner of that bout before the end of the year.

A lot of these aforementioned fights would be genuine 50/50 match-ups, with Okolie more than capable of beating any of them on his day

His Excellency Turki Alalshikh may also take an interest in Okolie and perhaps include him in some of his huge Riyadh Season cards going forward too.

All in all, Lawrence Okolie has a lot of options going forward in the heavyweight division.
