Dubois Beats Joshua ‘Easier’ In Rematch – Lennox Lewis 1h3p13

Lennox Lewis, a man widely regarded as the best British fighter of all time, has spoken out on the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois fight for the very first time.

Daniel Dubois shocked the world by knocking ‘AJ’ out in five rounds of their IBF World Heavyweight Title contest at Wembley Stadium in September. With 98,000 people in attendance, Dubois put on a masterclass, knocking Joshua down numerous times before finishing the contest in Round 5.

Talks of a rematch came to the surface instantly, with Eddie Hearn. It remains to be seen whether the rematch happens next or not, or whether Dubois could wait to face the winner of the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk rematch in 2025 instead.

It’s fair to say Lennox Lewis knows a thing or two about elite heavyweight boxing. He has spoken to Boxing News recently, giving both advice to Joshua for the rematch and praise to Dubois for his performance on September 21st.

“Unbelievable performance by Anthony Joshua’s chin was in the way of, and knocked him down,” Lewis said in his interview with Boxing News.

Whether or not the rematch happens next remains to be seen. Boxing fans are divided on who the want Daniel Dubois or not.

After retaining his world title for the very first time at Wembley last time out against Joshua, Fabio Wardley or indeed the ‘AJ’ rematch.

Lennox Lewis believes that if the rematch does happen between Dubois and Joshua, ‘DDD’ could win even ‘easier’ the second time around. That is unless Joshua makes some ‘drastic changes’ to avenge his loss against Dubois.

“Well, it’s [the rematch] going to be kind of like the same thing. Dubois is going to be coming after you and when he’s done that to you the first time, it’s going to be easier for him to do it to you the second time unless you make some drastic changes. If he’s going to do the rematch, he needs to make some drastic changes in his boxing.

“For Anthony Joshua going into a rematch, he has to look deep within himself and say, well, does he want it? Then he has to realise, well, what did he do wrong? And then go and right the wrongs, basically,” concluded the former undisputed world heavyweight king.

Time will tell whether or not the rematch happens or not. If it does, Dubois will undoubtedly go into it as the favourite with the best boxing betting sites in the UK. ‘AJ’ would most definitely be the underdog given how the first fight panned out.
