Lennox Lewis is a man who knows a thing or two about boxing. The former undisputed world heavyweight champion of course had a long and successful career of his own, both as an amateur and professional.

Lewis is widely regarded as one of the best heavyweight fighters of all time, having beaten fighters such as Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Vitali Klitschko and Frank Bruno during his illustrious heavyweight career.

The former fighter now chips in from time to time with boxing punditry, giving his opinion on some of the biggest and best fights around the world. This time, he has weighed in with his prediction ahead of the Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury rematch on December 21st in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The 59-year-old British boxing legend believes that it’s hard to see past Oleksandr Usyk, given that he has never been beaten before and there is no blueprint to get the better of him.

However, he wasn’t ruling out a win for Tyson Fury, who Lewis feels can win the fight if he sticks to his boxing and utilises his jab more effectively in the rematch.

Speaking at the annual WBC Annual Convention in Hamburg, where he was presented with a special award for his contributions to boxing, Lennox Lewis gave his verdict on the Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury rematch clash:

“This is going to be a good fight. Obviously there will be different tactics which will be done. Tyson Fury needs to do more boxing and get that jab going and be more effective in this second fight.

“You can’t really go against Usyk because he hasn’t lost,” Lewis concluded.

The former undisputed cruiserweight king of course got the better of ‘The Gypsy King’ first time around in may, but it was most definitely a close fight. Lewis is opting for a repeat victory for the Ukrainian, but insists there are ways in which Fury can still win the fight.

His Excellency Turki Alalshikh will be hoping the rematch lives up to the hype and billing it has received, with boxing fans in for a treat just a few days before Christmas.

Oleksandr Usyk goes into the rematch with Tyson Fury as the favourite with the best boxing betting sites in the UK. This comes as no surprise given the Ukrainian won the first fight.
