Former world light-middleweight champion Liam Smith has officially re-signed with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing. ‘Beefy’ will once again be promoted by Hearn and Matchroom in 2025 and beyond as he chases huge fights.
Former world super-welterweight champion Liam Smith has officially re-ed forces with Matchroom Boxing, as he aims to get his career back on track in 2025 and beyond.
‘Beefy’ previously enjoyed a spell as a Matchroom fighter from 2019 to 2022, and has once again teamed up with Eddie Hearn and co for a second stint.
The 36-year-old is entering the twilight years of his boxing career and is chasing big fights only, as he aims to get back to the pinnacle at 154-pounds or at middleweight.
Smith re-signs with Matchroom following three fights with ben Shalom and Boxxer. During his stint at Boxxer, Smith defeated Hassan Mwakinyo before facing Chris Eubank Jr on two occasions.
After beating Eubank Jr in the first fight, Smith was comprehensively beaten in the rematch which was his last fight back in September 2023. Now, ‘Beefy’ aims to get back to winning ways and is looking forward to a huge 2025 having once again teamed up with Matchroom.
Smith is no stranger to a big fight, having shared the ring with the likes of ‘Chris Eubank Jr twice too.
There have been some rumours that Smith could face unbeaten Irish middleweight Aaron McKenna (19-0, 10 KOs) in his next fight, but this is mere speculation for now. That’s a fight Smith would likely be favourite with the best boxing betting sites to win as well.
It is also heavily rumoured that Liam Smith will return to the ring on the Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn undercard in April.

Smith Chasing A ‘Big Year’ After Re-g With Matchroom 49396
After re-g with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing, Liam Smith has made it clear that he is after big fights and big fights only.
At 36-years-old Smith is closer to the end of his career and may only have a few fights left, so will want the biggest fights available for the most amounts of money going forward.
This could mean being involved with some Riyadh Season shows put on by Conor Benn clash in April.
