The latest Lisandro Martinez injury update confirms that he could be available to start in Manchester United’s Europa League clash with Bodo/Glimt on Thursday.

Lisandro Martinez Injury Update Sees Him “Ready” To Return To Action 5x6v1y

Ahead of Manchester United vs Bodo/Glimt on Thursday, key defender Lisandro Martinez looks likely to return to the field for the first time since before the international break.

During his pre-match press conference, new United boss Ruben Amorim gave an update on Martinez as well as Harry Maguire.

Speaking to the media ahead of his first home game in charge, Amorim said: “Licha is ready. He didn’t stop too much time, so I feel he is ready. The situation is different to Harry’s (Maguire).”

Both Martinez and Maguire have returned to training in the lead up to the fixture, but only the Argentinian looks likely to be involved.

The World Cup winner’s availability will give Amorim more options in defence, as he looks to secure just the second win in Europe this season for United.

With three draws and one win so far, the Red Devils sit down in 15th in the Europa League table. The side picked up their first win in the competition before the international break, but drew their first three games against FC Twente, Porto and Fenerbahce.

Fairly desperate for the three points, Amorim has the chance to pick up his first victory at the club. His maiden game as United manager ended in a 1-1 draw with Ipswich last weekend. Marcus Rashford opened the scoring, before Omari Hutchinson equalised from distance for the Tractor Boys.

The Portuguese coach brought plenty of success to Sporting Lisbon during his time there as boss, and famously lined-up with a 3-4-3 formation – which he has already implemented in the North West.

Amorim started with the three-at-the-back setup on Sunday against Ipswich, with Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt and Jonny Evans.

United fans can expect the same formation against Bodo/Glimt, but with Martinez potentially coming in to replace one of the three defender already mentioned.

Onana; Mazraoui, de Ligt, Martinez; Diallo, Casemiro, Ugarte, Dalot; Fernandes, Garnacho, Rashford
