Littler produced a moment of magic at Players Championship 5 in Leicester, hitting a stunning nine-dart finish in his first-round clash against Adam Hunt.

After coming close at the Belgian Darts Open over the weekend, ‘The Nuke’ finally found perfection, firing in 180, 180, and a 141 checkout to break throw and move 4-2 ahead.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing for Littler though, as he was forced into a deciding-leg encounter. The 18-year-old was immediately broken back following the nine, but he regained composure to seal a narrow 6-5 victory.

Littler’s effort was actually the second nine-darter of the day, following Gary Anderson’s earlier perfect leg against Ryan Joyce.

Anderson’s perfect leg arrived in the tenth leg of his match while trailing 4-5. He fired in back-to-back 180s before sealing the nine-darter with a clinical 141 checkout.

The two-time world champion then carried his momentum forward, winning the match in a deciding leg with a composed 16-dart finish, securing a 6-5 victory.

This latest nine-darter marked the eighth of Anderson’s illustrious PDC career.

With two moments of perfection already in the books, it was a special afternoon of darts in Leicester – leaving fans wondering if more nine-darters were still to come.
