When asked about his contract situation, Mohamed Salah itted there’s still some way to go.
Questioned if he is closer to g a new contract, he told Sky Sports: “No we are far away from that.
“I don’t want to put something in the media and people start saying stuff but nothing has really moved on.”
Despite this, Salah insisted that he is fully focused on guiding Liverpool to a second league title during his time at Anfield. The Reds are currently eight points clear of Nottingham Forest after a soaring opening half to the season.
The Egyptian said: “But I’m focused on the team and hopefully we will win the Premier League.”
His comments will be a concern to Liverpool fans. In November Salah said that he was ‘more out than in’ when asked about his contract situation.
Reports have stated that Salah has been approached by the Reds over a new deal. Along withTrent Alexander-Arnold whose futures are also uncertain.
However, Salah’s age (33 next summer) has created some uncertainty over whether Liverpool will offer him the amount and length of deal that he wants.
