A Nottinghamshire pub became the talk of the country after they inadvertently scored a spectacular own goal on Saturday afternoon.
The Gedling Inn promised thirsty punters a free pint with every goal that Nottingham Forest scored against Brighton at the City Ground.
After last weekend’s sobering 5-0 lashing at the hands of Bournemouth, the pub’s hierarchy probably weren’t expecting to part ways with many freebies.
However, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side ran riot and downed the Seagulls on seven separate occasions on their way to a rousing 7-0 triumph.
‘FREE PINT WHEN FOREST SCORE,’ was written on the pub’s official Facebook page on the morning of the game. And to be fair to the owners of the Gedling Inn, they stuck to their promise.
