PDC Premier League Darts Night 8 Predictions 2n5b3d
Luke Littler vs Stephen Bunting (19:15) f1z56
It’s fair to say that Stephen Bunting is really struggling with his darts at the minute. ‘The Bullet’ is rock bottom of the Premier League and hasn’t got a single win to his name so far, and it isn’t getting any easier for him against the table-topper this week.
Although he hasn’t yet won a game in the Premier League this year, Bunting has actually averaged 100+ in three of the last five weeks, but has still been defeated. He will need to produce another 100+ average and hope that Luke Littler has an off night if he is to claim his first points on Thursday night.
It’s difficult to see anything other than a routine Luke Littler victory here in the first game of the evening in Newcastle. Expect another dazzling performance from the teenage darting prodigy.
Prediction: Luke Littler 6-2 Stephen Bunting 1510c
Gerwyn Price vs Rob Cross (19:45) 3b3o52
This is a repeat of last week’s quarter-final in Cardiff, as Rob Cross and Gerwyn Price lock horns once again in the north-east this week.
It was ‘Voltage’ who clinched victory with a quite remarkable 170-checkout in the deciding leg last week, silencing the Welsh crowd that was cheering for Price and booing the Englishman.
If Cross gets the job done here and picks up another win or two, he could climb above ‘The Iceman’ into the Top 4. That being said, Price has won two individual nights so far this year and has looked hard to beat at times.
Expect another close affair between these two, with the best sports betting apps finding it difficult to split them. Could we see 11 legs of action again?
Prediction: Gerwyn Price 6-4 Rob Cross 3y4w6k
Luke Humphries vs Chris Dobey (20:15) 5tc17
The third match on Night 8 of the Premier League Darts in Newcastle sees world number one Luke Humphries take on Chris Dobey.
‘Hollywood’ will be desperate to win in front of his hometown fans, but is up against it for sure. ‘Coolhand’ has won four of their last five head-to-head meetings and is fancied by the best UK online bookmakers to defeat the Geordie here.
That being said, Dobey is more than capable of beating anyone on his day, including Humphries. Whether or not he ups his game and puts on a sensational display in front of his own fans remains to be seen, but it’s hard to look past Humphries here.
Prediction: Luke Humphries 6-3 Chris Dobey 6a4o
Michael van Gerwen vs Nathan Aspinall (20:45) 1f5ct
Rounding off the quarter-final action in Newcastle is a clash between Nathan Aspinall.
The Dutchman played some quite brilliant darts last week, and can count himself very unlucky that he didn’t win his first night of the 2025 Premier League Darts campaign.
If he can replicate last week’s performances again this week, he could be a tough man to beat. That being said, Aspinall is a resilient player and will push ‘MVG’ all the way. This could be another game that goes deep.
Prediction: Michael van Gerwen 6-5 Nathan Aspinall hm58
Night 8 of the 2025 PDC Premier League Darts is sure to be another entertaining one. But who will go on to be crowned champion in Newcastle?
Our prediction is that Michael van Gerwen will reign supreme this week, winning his first night of the 2025 Premier League Darts campaign as he regains his best form.
