Ruben Amorim is reportedly backing Manchester United’s pursuit of g former player Angel Gomes on a free transfer.
The Lille midfielder has been linked with a return to Old Trafford – four years since leaving the Red Devils.
Gomes has impressed at the Ligue 1 side, making 129 appearances and scoring six goals. This led to him being called up to the senior England squad for the first time under Lee Carsley.
Now he finds himself in a similar position to when he left Manchester United back in 2020. His contract with Lille expires next summer and he can speak to clubs in January about g a pre-contract agreement.
