Searle set the tone for a thrilling Pro Tour day with a perfect nine-dart finish in the opening leg of Players Championship 7 in Hildesheim.

In what can only be described as a spectacular start, “Heavy Metal” threw a flawless nine-dart finish during the very first leg of his match against Joshua Richardson.

Searle hit two back-to-back scores of 180 and 177, before checking out 144 to complete the perfect leg.

Even the referee seemed a little too eager and prematurely declared, “Game shot and the match,” despite it being the first leg.

Searle eventually secured a 6-3 victory over Richardson, posting an impressive average of 104.54.

Searle went on to lose 6-4 to Ricky Evans in the last 64 later in the afternoon.

Not long after Searle’s brilliance, Dirk van Duijvenbode hit a nine-dart finish against Thomas Lovely.

The Dutchman took an early 2-0 lead before Lovely responded with a 17-darter to reduce the deficit.

However, Van Duijvenbode’s fourth leg was something special – he kicked off with back-to-back 180s before sealing the deal with a 141 checkout to complete his perfect leg.

The route of his 141 checkout was particularly unique, hitting a treble 17, treble 18, and capping it off with a double 18.

The nine-dart finish is Van Duijvenbode’s first at senior level, and his reaction shows what it means to him.

Van Duijvenbode managed to maintain his dominance, extending his lead to 4-1 before Lovely fought back with an 11-darter.

Despite the bit of pressure, the Dutchman held firm and closed out the match with a commanding 6-2 victory, finishing in style with a 113 checkout.

It was only fitting that William O’Connor added his name to the nine-dart club on St. Patrick’s Day, completing the third perfect leg of the day in style.

The Irishman delivered his moment of magic in a 6-1 victory over Jimmy van Schie, averaging 102 in the process.

O’Connor completed the nine-darter in the penultimate leg, breaking his opponent’s throw with the classic 180, 180, 141 checkout.

While his moment of perfection wasn’t on the streaming board like Searle and Van Duijvenbode’s, it was still a highlight of the session.

With the luck of the Irish on his side, he powered through to the Quarter-Finals, hoping to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day with a deep run in Hildesheim.
