Real Madrid will officially unveil Trent Alexander-Arnold as their new number 12 on Thursday afternoon.
The England international defender, who completed his £10m move to the Spanish capital on a six-year deal from his boyhood club Liverpool last month, has also opted to change the name on the back of his shirt to ‘Trent’.
He previously wore the number 66 and sported ‘Alexander-Arnold’ on the back of his shirt during his time at Anfield.
Additionally, he has changed his Instagram handle from ‘@trentarnold66’ to ‘@trent’ to reflect his new kit. This is seemingly in an attempt to build his personal brand, with Los Blancos boasting one of the biggest fanbases on the planet.

His number change, meanwhile, comes due to LaLiga regulations. The league rules stipulate that first-team players must wear a shirt number between one and 25, with numbers 13 and 25 reserved for goalkeepers.
Uned youth players such as Raul Asencio, who wears number 35, are exempt from this ruling, however.
Fans will have the opportunity to see Alexander-Arnold’s new kit on show at this month’s FIFA Club World Cup. The 26-year-old is in line to make his debut at the tournament against Al-Hilal on Wednesday evening.
His move to the Spanish capital was originally due to be a free transfer. Los Blancos chiefs wanted him to feature at the Club World Cup in the United States however, so they had to pay Liverpool a £10m fee to facilitate an early transfer.
Alexander-Arnold is expected to go straight into the Real Madrid lineup under Xabi Alonso, with the potential to feature in midfield, as a flat right-back, or as a right-wing back in the Spanish boss’ preferred 3-4-2-1 formation.
Alexander-Arnold: ‘I’ve Loved Every Single Minute’ at Liverpool 5bm6q
The defender’s move away from the Reds drew plenty of criticism from the Anfield faithful, both in person and online.
It was seen as a controversial departure as he had chosen to run down his contract to leave the club on a free transfer.
He was booed by a wave of ers after being brought on as a substitute in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal in May but received an improved reception against Crystal Palace on the final day and during Liverpool’s open-top bus parade.
“I didn’t know what to expect at Anfield after what happened a few weeks ago. To get the reception that I got means more than anything to me,” Alexander-Arnold said as he bid an emotional farewell last month.
“I hope that one day the fans of this club will be able to recognise the hard work and everything I’ve done for this team. There wasn’t a second where I didn’t think about this team. I’ve loved every single minute of it.
“It goes down as the best day of my life for me.”
