The visitors were on top in the first ten minutes at Portman Road and Alex Palmer was forced into a sharp save to keep the score level as Jean-Ricner Bellegarde nodded an effort towards the top corner.
It was Ipswich who broke the deadlock though, as Liam Delap once again got on the scoresheet when the Tractor Boys needed it most.
A long ball into the box was met by Dara O’Shea and the Irishman put it on a plate for Ipswich’s top goalscorer this season, who had no problem bundling home the first goal in a crucial game from close range.
The remainder of the first period carried on with a similar tempo, with the Tractor Boys continuing to dominate possession as they hunted for a crucial second goal.
There was a strange moment with just ten minutes left to the break as Wolves were awarded an indirect freekick just five yards out from the goal. After an impressive start to the game, Palmer let a back slip under his foot and the goalkeeper was only able to prevent a goal by clawing the ball off his line in an embarrassing sequence of events.
Fortunately for the Town goalkeeper, his captain Sam Morsy was quickest to react and a flying block on the line kept Ipswich in front.
Wolves started to get the hand of things in the second half and they netted a deserved equaliser with just 20 minutes left to play thanks to a scrappy Pablo Sarabia strike from the edge of the box.
The momentum shifted after Wolves finally broke through and they completed a comeback in the 83rd minute through another scrappy goal, as Jørgen Strand Larsen tapped in a Sarabia cross at the back post to all but confirm Wolves’ survival in the top flight.

With just seven games left to play in the Premier league this season the battle for survival is going right down to the wire, but Ipswich now look to be all but out of the race after a damning defeat on Saturday.
The gap between last season’s Championship runners up in 18th and Wolves in 17th is now up to 12 points and the defeat at Portman Road felt like it could well be the last straw for Ipswich.
Wolves do have some difficult fixtures coming up in the form of Tottenham, Manchester City and United, however they are so close to survival that it seems almost impossible to go down at this stage.
